East Surrey Bowls League - Triples League Rules

AGREED GUIDELINES AND RULES BY THE 10 FOUNDER CLUBS FOR THE TRIAL SEASON OF THE ESL MIDWEEK/WEEKDAY TRIPLES LEAGUE 2022.

The ten clubs covered by these guidelines as published on the ESL Website are:

CHEAM, CHEAM FIELD, PURLEY, PURLEY BURY, CMO, OLD COULSDON, SHIRLEY PARK, EPSOM, CHIPSTEAD and CATERHAM.

In this TRIAL season the playing format will be covered by the normal BOWLS ENGLAND Rules and Regulations, with one special ESL rule (printed below) to be applied should a club who on match day finds themselves a player short.

The club with only 2 out of the 3 normally needed in Triples play on a rink would play an extra wood each but lose 25% of the final rink score.

LEAGUE PLAYING FORMAT:        3 x TRIPLES  (18 ends)   plus Trial ends if required.

LEAGUE MATCH POINTS:            2 points available on each rink and 4 for the combined shots overall winner.

It has been agreed that during the 2022 trial season all games will be played in Greys and club shirts, refreshments, if supplied, will be Tea and Biscuits at NO CHARGE, or sales from the Bar.

All other details in arranging a fixture must be by mutual agreement.

A.S.A.P. after the game has been played BOTH clubs should email the result to League Webmaster Alan Huxtable within 24 hours of the completed match.

Your feedback and observations during the season will help the ESL Committee formulate the Official Rules for the launch of the league in 2023.
