GUIDELINES AND RULES FOR SEASON 2024 OF THE ESL MIDWEEK/WEEKDAY TRIPLES LEAGUE.
The nine clubs covered by these guidelines as published on the ESL Website are:
CHEAM FIELD, PURLEY, PURLEY BURY, CMO, OLD COULSDON, SHIRLEY PARK, EPSOM, EPSOM PARK, CHIPSTEAD.
In season 2024 the playing format will be covered by the normal BOWLS ENGLAND Rules and Regulations, with one special ESL rule (printed below) to be applied should a club who on match day finds themselves a player short.
The club with only 2 out of the 3 players normally needed in Triples play on a rink would play an extra wood each but lose 25% of the final rink score.
LEAGUE PLAYING FORMAT: 3 x TRIPLES (18 ends) plus Trial ends if required.
LEAGUE MATCH POINTS: 2 points available on each rink and 4 for the combined shots overall winner.
All games will be played in a clubs registered playing clothing (All players in a team MUST play in the same-coloured outfit.) Refreshments, if supplied, will be Tea and Biscuits at NO CHARGE, sales from the Bar will be charged. No match fees will be charged to the visiting club.
All other details in arranging a fixture must be by mutual agreement. The date and venue must be within the published week as per the ESL website.
A.S.A.P. after the game has been played BOTH clubs should email the result to League Webmaster Alan Huxtable within 24 hours of the completed match.
